Cavity Back Irons are ideal for almost all but scratch or low single digit handicap players...they are simply designed to be easier to hit...
and easy hits are good!
on modern cavity backed irons the weight is around the perimeter of the
back of the club, a crater and the weight is also lower on the club face
this makes mishits off the sweet spot not as bad and gives us hackers a not too bad shot result...
this is a good thing!
Forged Irons are much harder to hit...you don't want those!
