One of my favorite characters and playing buddies was "Marathon Vinny"
Vinny was great fun to play with...By day he delivered cases of Wine, and during summer's longer daylight hours and weekends Vinny would dash down to the Golf course...
He was called "Marathon Vinny" because he would sometimes walk 50 holes a day and then play 3 games of Ice Hockey that nite!!!
I met Vinny at the Braintree Municipal course in Braintree Mass. He was fun to play golf with. He walked, carried his golf bag, took his shot and off he would go...He was a high 70's to low 80's player too!!
I played 40 holes with him one day and I was beat...worn out
He would loudly introduce himself saying "I'm Marathon Vinny, I played 50 holes today"
then later he would play Hockey that nite....
whatta guy.....lots of fun....
